Intermediate German Language B1 Course
Our B1 German course helps students move from basic communication to independent language use. You will learn how to express opinions, explain ideas, handle workplace conversations, and understand longer spoken and written German.
The course follows a CEFR-aligned structure, taught by experienced instructors who understand the challenges non-native learners face. Classes are practical, interactive, and focused on real German usage, not memorization.
The B1 German course is designed for learners who already understand basic German and now want to communicate independently, confidently, and correctly.
At IBV International, this course focuses on real-life usage, structured speaking practice, and exam-aligned language development to prepare you for daily life, work, and integration in Germany.
This level is especially important for students planning Ausbildung, work visas, long-term residence, or further academic study.
Develop the ability to communicate independently in German across a wide range of everyday and professional situations. Students learn how to express opinions, explain experiences, give reasons, and participate confidently in structured conversations.
Learn and apply B1-level grammar such as subordinate clauses, sentence connectors, passive voice, and correct tense usage. Grammar is taught through real-life examples so students can use it naturally while speaking and writing.
Improve comprehension of longer spoken conversations, announcements, interviews, and workplace discussions. Reading practice includes emails, notices, articles, and official-style texts commonly encountered in Germany.
Regular speaking sessions include role plays, discussions, presentations, and situational dialogues. Instructors provide personalised feedback to help students improve fluency, pronunciation, and sentence structure.
The course includes B1-style exam tasks, mock exercises, and instructor guidance to prepare students for Goethe, TELC, or ÖSD exams while building confidence for real-life use beyond exams.
By the end of the B1 course, you will be able to communicate independently in German, understand the main points of complex conversations, and express opinions clearly in both spoken and written form. You will gain the confidence needed for workplace communication, official matters, and everyday life in Germany.
